In this lesson, you will learn the Hebrew words for family members and how to use them in sentences. By the end of the lesson, you will be able to recognize and use the most common Hebrew words to describe your family members.

Here are the most common Hebrew words for family members:

אבא aba お父さん (Otōsan)
אמא ima お母さん (Okāsan)
בן ben 息子 (Musuko)
בת bat 娘 (Musume)
אח akh 兄弟 (Kyōdai)
אחות akhot 姉妹 (Shimai)

Let's learn the words for parents:

  • אבא (aba) means "father".
  • אמא (ima) means "mother".

For example:

  • אבא שלי עובד בבנק. (Aba sheli oved bebank.) - My father works at the bank.
  • אמא שלי עושה טעימות טעימות. (Ima sheli oseh ta'imot ta'imot.) - My mother makes delicious dishes.

Let's learn the words for siblings:

  • אח (akh) means "brother".
  • אחות (akhot) means "sister".

For example:

  • יש לי שתי אחיות. (Yesh li sh'tei akhot.) - I have two sisters.

  • בן (ben) means "son".
  • בת (bat) means "daughter".
  • סבא (saba) means "grandfather".
  • סבתא (savta) means "grandmother".

  • דודה (doda) means "aunt" (father's sister).
  • חיית חמד (khayat khamud) means "cute pet".

For example:

  • הבן שלי יודע לשחק פוטבול. (Ha'ben sheli yode'a l'sakheq futbol.) - My son knows how to play football.
  • סבא שלי אוהב לספר סיפורים. (Saba sheli ohev l'saper sipurim.) - My grandfather likes to tell stories.
  • דודה שלי עושה את הטעימות הכי טעימות. (Doda sheli oseh et ha'ta'imot ha'khi ta'imot.) - My aunt makes the most delicious dishes.
