Ordinal numbers are essential for lists: they denote the rank, position, or order of items in a group, whether that group is made up of people, objects, or things to do.
Ordinal Numbers: Primero to Décimo[edit | edit source]
The most commonly used números ordinales in Spanish are numbers 1-10. As you will soon see, the numbers after 10 grow in complexity and length. Let’s start with a list of the numbers 1-10:

Ordinal Numbers: Decimoprimero to Decimonoveno[edit | edit source]
Ordinal numbers are not ordinarily used after 10, but it is still important to expose yourself to them so that you can recognize them when they do appear. Both 11th and 12th have two acceptable forms.

Ordinal Numbers Divisible by Ten[edit | edit source]
Here are a list of the ordinal numbers divisible by 10 that fall between vigésimo (twentieth) and nonagésimo (ninetieth). These are used as the base from which to form all the ordinal numbers between twentieth and ninety-ninth.
