1. Les η, ι et υ se prononcent tous [ i ]
ex : ήχος (son), ιπποπόταμος (hippopotame), υποβρύχιο (sous-marin) 2. Les ο et ω se prononcent : [ο] ex : ώρα (heure), ομάδα (équipe) 3. Parfois, un son correspond à deux lettres : ex : ει, οι : λέει (dit), εικόνα (icône),τοίχος (mur )[ i ] 4. Parfois, une lettre correspond à deux sons : (κ+σ =ξ) : ξύλο : bois (π+σ = ψ) ψάρι : poisson |

Cette lettre contient trois types de graphies.
Le sigma majuscule Σ s’écrit Σ lorsqu'il est au début d’un mot ou devant un propre nom ou prénom. Le sigma minuscule σ est ainsi écrit quand se trouve dans le mot. Le sigma le ς final : σεισμός : seïsme Dans les trois cas, la prononciation est identique : c'est-à-dire équivalente à un S français. This letter contains three types of graphics.
